It seems in this continuation of the story that Allie, for the first time ever, get to meet her grandmother.  And she nothing like what she's expecting.  Most peoples grandmothers are sweet little old ladies who like baking cookies. Not so with Allie's grandmother.  She a Faery Queen, and Allie is a Faery Princess destined to marry another faery, Ryker.

All this as Junior strolls back into her life, some Mexican movie God complete with an entourage, and Beck decides to pay a visit... can things get anymore complicated? And not only that.... Principal Hostetler's son isn't who he appears to be... it seems Faery has paid a visit before.

Moon Spun by Marilee Brothers is the continuation of Allie's adventures, and this one is wilder than all the others. Allie has always wondered about her grandmother, her own mother hardly mentions her, but Allie can tell, it part of the reason why Fay is the way she is. When Ryker shows up, blazing down the world on his motorcycle, Allie doesn't know what to think.  He's bold, taking her for a ride, even though Fay would have a stroke.  But when Ryker tells her they have to return to some mystical wonderland called Boundless, to save it if they can, Allie is up to her eyes in trouble once again.

Moon Spun is the third installment in this series that keeps growing.  Allie is off on another wild adventure, and just so she doesn't miss anything important, Faery magic allows her to freeze time, at least temporarily. She doesn't want Fay to worry and end up thinking Allie has left her to her own devices.  This is one series that everyone will enjoy reading, there's action, adventure, myths and legend of Faery long since lost.  If you have the opportunity, this is an excellent series for the young reader, just becoming enchanted with books as well as some adults, still willing to remember high school, cliches, and dastardly antics. It's a fun filled adventure story that was hard to put down.  All YA paranormal romance lovers should give this one a peek.  Perfect reading on those lazy Winter afternoon when you can't escape the house, and I guess that would hold true for Summer as well.

Moon Rise by Marilee Brothers tells the continuing story of Alfrieda Carlotta Emerson, Allie to her friends.  In this installment of the Unbidden Magic Series, Allie is faced with a new challenge.  Beck, the half lust demon and a healer can help her regain her powers if she can trust him, and that's a big if. Not only that, but Beck's sister is taking no prisoners, she really wants to stay part of the in-crowd, but with Allie hanging around, maybe everyone will start thinking, she doesn't belong either.  And the Trimarks have infiltrated the school.... could Allie's life get any better?


Moon Rise is the second book in Ms. Brothers series, all starring Allie has the girl with the special gift, the Moonstone.  Only, she supposed to have these special powers which have suddenly dried up.  Her dad's kind of showing her off to the other Star Seekers, but if she can't figure out how to stop the Trimarks, well, being the Keeper of the Moonstone isn't going to help me.  Moon Rise is a fun little read perfect for a lazy afternoon, it's quick and packed with action and adventure, as well as a few wayward boyfriend.  If you enjoy YA paranormal romance, you may want to give Moon Rise a try.  I would start with the first book, but even if you started with Moon Rise, it's easy to follow.  For more information about Ms. Brothers or her series, please visit her website.

Alfrieda Carlotta Emerson... yeah, that's her name alright.  Allie's grandfather named her after his mother, the cost of payment for the hospital bills.  Not that Faye, Allie's mom, and Grandpa Claude get along, it's probably the last time they spoke to each other.

Allie's had it kind of rough.  Most people live in a house or even apartment, not Faye and Allie.  They live in a travel trailer next to Blaster the bull's pasture, right on the edge Uncle Sid's property.  Faye is constantly sick, and Allie has to be more grown up than Faye to keep their family together.

When bad boy Junior Rodriquez notices her at school, her life gets when more complicated, only she soon discovers that Junior may not be as bad as he seems to be.  Curiouser.  When Kizzy decides she's the rightful owner of the moonstone, her life becomes even more bizarre.

Moonstone by Marilee Brothers is a sweet story of what happens to a girl who becomes the holder of a magical necklace bearing the rare Moonstone.  There's budding romance, which Allie has seen little of, when you can drive your home and have to empty the sewage tanks, boyfriends are hard to find.  Faye and Allie live just above poverty, Allie's life is hard, with little hope.  But, it rarely gives Allie pause, because life can only get better.  When she comes into possession of the Moonstone, her life takes on a whole new aspect, widening her horizons, bringing magic into her life, and unknown possibilities.  She just doesn't know if all of this is a blessing or a curse in disguise.

Moonstone is a sweet YA story that draws the reader in with the plight of Allie's life.  Allie could be mad at the world, her lot in life is harsh, but she finds ways to look beyond it, most of the time.  She cares for her mother, hoping one day Faye will be able to see beyond their current lives as well.  It's not sunshine and roses,  and there's plenty of embarrassing moments for Allie.  But, into her life come romance and magic, the romance she can almost handle, the magic she wonders about.  She becomes the Star Seeker, but there's someone else who wants the Moonstone, the Trimarks, and they're ready to do just about anything to snatch it away.  There love, action and adventure, magic, mayhem, and bad guys all it this one story.  I recommend this book to YA lovers, young romance lovers, and paranatural story lovers.  I very much enjoyed this quick little read.
