From the Cover: Romance author Mona is human. Ship's doctor Fausto is a vampire. He can never be one of her kind and she's afraid to become one of his. As they sail the Mediterranean on writers' cruise, the couple is stalked by vampire hunters, and by Fausto's notorious ex-wife, Lucrezia Borgia. Events force Mona and Fausto team up with the hunters to capture Lucrezia, but where can they go from here? With Fausto's friend and Mona's editor vamping it up and a hunter on the loose, can this bloody good cruise have a happy ending?

Excerpt

A Bloody Good Cruise

Mona forced a dose of cheer through her jangly nerves. Vampire hunters wouldn't have the balls to attack Fausto and his friends on this ship. Security was tight. "Well, you're here, so does that mean you've been going out, and aren't confined to your house any more?"

Fausto shrugged. "Almost. I couldn't wallow in self-pity forever. And I knew seeing you would make it worthwhile."

She smiled and gave him a genuine Italian cheek pinch. "I'll cheer you up, faccia bella, you can count on that. You must feel safe." She gestured at the tacky duds. "I mean, relatively speaking."

"Don't let this scare you." He glanced around over the rims of his shades. Uh-oh. Whenever he said, don't let this scare you, it scared her. "I got an ominous message at the doctor's office earlier."

What? She swallowed a lump. What kind of ominous message?

Mona is a down on her luck romance writer, but maybe her luck is turning, looking up? The cruise with romance writers is just what the doctor ordered. The doctor would be her vampire lover, Fausto, doctor for the cruise line where the tour was booked. Hmmm....maybe she could write a 'cruise' line.

But, Mona has other things to worry about, like the hunters that killed Fausto's family. She can only hope they missed the memo about the romance cruise. Her friend and editor, Tessie, was also on board and totally in love with Fausto's cousin, Quintus. Quintus wants to pop the question, but before he can, Tessie needs to hear the whole truth. Vampires live for a long time and only feed from each other. She has to know what she getting herself into. Will she be able to handle becoming a vampire, one of the undead? Will Mona allow Fausto to turn her?

A Bloody Good Cruise by Diana Rubino is the first of her vampire paranormal romances. It's a romance book written about a romance writer trying to change her luck after a failed marriage and sinking sells. But Mona thinks maybe this cruise will help turn her life around. Fausto is a five hundred year old vampire mourning the loss of his family and wanting to make a permanent relationship with Mona. Mona is afraid of the commitment of a lifetime, but only she can make a decision for immortality. This was a really quick read, three hours from start to finish. Maybe something for a day at the beach. Fun, sun, and vampires... To find out more information about Diana Rubino's fun books, please visit her website or her blog. For another review of A Bloody Good Cruise, Emily Bryan also has a post.

Tune back in next Friday (6-19-09), Ms. Rubino will be here with a guest post and a chance to win one of her books. See you then.
