Updated!!! Vampires, Can't be alive with them, Can't live without them.

Cecile and I were chatting the other day, and she mentioned that she hadn't seen Gerard Butler in Dracula 2000. This all started when the wonderful Ms. Amanda McIntyre had a post this weekend for preferences between scruffy or sharp dressed, Gerard Butler has no problem fitting into both categories, his scruffy is sharp.

In this incarnation of the Dracula franchise, Gerard Butler comes across as the super sexy scary bloodsucker like no one has before.

There have been plenty of scarier vampires,

like Gary Oldman in Bram Stoker's Dracula (for Ms. Charlotte Featherstone)

or Frank Langella first as young Dracula, then the older Dracula (for Ms. Marta Acosta).

Then there are always the vampire couples
like Anita Blake and Jean Claude (this is for me, I love Anita and Jean Claude),

Louis and Lestat from Interview With The Vampire (for Ms. Moonlight)

and Queen Akasha and Lestat in Queen of the Damned (for Ms. Moonlight)

Bella and Edward (for all the Twilight fans out there, which I am one),

and Henry Fitzroy and Vicki from Bloodties (for Chris, I too loved Bloodties)

Mick St. John and Beth/Mick St. John and Coraline (again for me and for my sweet blogger buddy, Lea)

Buffy and Angel/Buffy and Spike (again for Ms. Marta Acosta, wow, Angel and Spike),

Jessica and Hoyt (who knows how this is going to end, could be bad for Jessica), or

Sookie and Bill/Sookie and Eric (we had to know where this is going to end or where we'd like this to end, if they follow the books even a little).

Or vampire groups like The Lost Boys (again for me, hot scary teenage vamps).

But none look like Gerard Butler as our sexy scary addition in Dracula 2000 (these are all for Cecile and Ms. Amanda McIntyre).

I dug up these clips of fan made videos because the music was so fitting to the performances in the movie.

I loved this song put to the scenes from the movie, again fan made.

And finally, the actually movie trailer.

So, everyone knows of my love for vampires, the good, the bad, the sparkly, and the anime. I love reading vampire novels, watching the movies and TV shows, and writing short stories about them. Does anyone else have an opinion??

I hope everyone as a beautiful Thursday, only one more day until the weekend!!!

Wowhoo school is almost power for me for a while, so I am very happy. In September I am gonna be lazy and read, read and read!

Oh yes vamps, gotta love them, but who was my fav again..oh the BDB ones, mmm, those boys makes me drool. But to my horror, my vampire obsession is dying a bit, I am more in werewolves now. They just seem a bit more manly. Lol, wonder what I will feel when I start on demons ;)

Have a great Thursday Dottie! You must be up real early today

Great post Dottie! And I just love vamps in any form (books, movies, series)!

Great post Dottie, but you didn't include my 2 all time favorite vampire movies: "Queen of the Damned" (sexiest vamp movie in my opinion) and "Interview with a Vampire". Those two I can watch and rewatch over and over.

:o)

What a nice way to start my day with Gerard Butler...:)

I'll take a vamp anyway I can get him!

How about Henry Fitzroy from Blood Ties?

Hi B!

I have always had a thing for vampires, but that doesn't mean that I don't share the love for werewolves, because they are so hot! I love Alcide in the Sookie books and Richard in the Anita Blake Series. Demons has hold a special place, Kelley Armstrong does demons very well. All are good fun!

Have a happy Thursday and a better Friday! (I took a nap in the middle of the day, couldn't go to sleep until about 2:30 am, lol, that's what I get for napping!)

(hugs)

Dottie :)

Hi Alaine!

Man, I need to go out more. I'll be by to visit today.

I just wanted to share my love of the beautiful vamps, so many more that I could add, but blogger would probably freak out! lol

(hugs)

Dottie :)

Hi Host!

Me too, vamps are just really my thing. I find if I write a short, it ends up being about vampires. They're just so damn hot!

Dottie :)

Hi Ms. M!

I went back and added your two excellent suggestions. I'd forgotten about Interview (Louis and Lestat) and Queen of the Damned (Akasha and Lestat), very cool.

Thanks for the excellent suggestions!

(hugs)

Hi Mandi!

It was an excellent start to my day, I love all these vampires, all are wonderful in their own special way!

Wonderful post Dottie and a lot of work putting all of those wonderful pics together!!! I love every single one of them listed. :)

I also like the Blade movies. Stephen Dorf from the first one made a pretty good vamp. But I have to say, Ryan Reynolds from the last movie - though no longer a vamp - was really hot! That part in the movie where he is shirtless and chained to the floor - whew boy. Very nice. LOL

Have a wonderful day.

Hi Chris!

When you mentioned Henry Fitzroy, it made me think of Mick St. John, so I had to go back and add these two excellent vamps that had slipped my mind. Too sweet to let get by.

Thanks for the excellent suggestion!

Dottie :)

Hi Michelle!

Damn, forgot about the Blade series as well! I loved Deacon Frost. He was one evil hot dude! And Ryan Reynolds in the Blade Trinity was so good. That was the first time I really noticed him, all muscles, abs, and sexy. And with a name like like Hannibal, he would have made an excellent vamp. Not a vamp, but still an excellent addition to the show!

Rockin post Dottie!!!

Wow, I'm impressed... LOL

You are really the authority on all things vampire. I have to say, I'm such a Moonlight fan myself - too bad they didn't continue the show.

I'm also quite partial to the early Anita Blake novels, Anita and Jean Claude - yummy... I really like the cartoon of them...

I think you will like the first offerings for the "kissing scene contest" this season.

I'm still in awe of all the vamp stuff mixed in with Tink here Dottie!!! LOL

Thanks
L

Gary Oldman in those sunglasses!!!! OH GAWD, my fav! Amanda must have squealed on me. I know he's not traditionally handsome, he doesn't have the buff bod, but for me, he smoldered with this hypnotic sensuality that I still feel today!!!

I just wrote a scene, for a historical with the guy dressed up wearing a pair of sunglasses! lol!

Thanks for the pics.....

Unknown said...

Hi Lea!

Tink is getting her vamp on! lol

I kind of feel like the leading authority on vampires right now.

I love the manga of Anita and Jean Claude, I've read several, they follow the books, but only a few chapters at a time and they're illustrated. lol. I need visuals once in a while.

I can't wait to see you kissing contest. Let me know if you need any help.

((hugs))

Hi Krista!

Yep, I sure do! I love the vamps, but I always have room in my heart for the weres, ghosts, and demons, lol. Love them all!

Hi Ms. Charlotte!

I found this one pic of Gary Oldman with his shades on and his beautiful baby blues where peeking over the top, OMG, I mean those baby blues were awesome! (And yes, Ms. Amanda gave you away!) Oh, and I found this one pic of his nekkid torso, and I mean, yum, who knew that was under his shirt?!?

I would never have thought to check it out.

Nice pictures, thanks so much for posting them all. My favorite vamps are the BDB ones, too, but I don't think I want a movie about them because I have a certain picture in my head. Silly me!

Unknown said...

Hi Cecile!

I hope I had something for everyone, vampires are my favs, if no one noticed, lol.

Has been lots of craziness that is for sure.

((hugs))

Hi VFG!

Jeaniene Frost is great, awesome read!

Hi Doug!

Langella did an excellent Dracula, and I love Tanya Huff's vampire, Henry Fitzroy. The series was great, too bad they don't keep these series around longer.

Hi Hawk!

I'll be by to pick up up!

Thanks sweetie!

Hi Stephanie!

Thanks for stopping by! The Brotherhood is fantastic, all hot sexy alphas there.

I agree with pictures of our heroes, sometimes it's too hard to pick just the right person to fulfill our notions. lol.

Oh, man, did I love Gerard in Dracula 2000!!! Frank Langella, though...he was also such an amazing Dracula! But I have a huge crush on Gerard. He was hilarious in The Ugly Truth. :-)

Unknown said...

Hi Ms. Donna!

Thanks for stopping by! I have a huge soft spot for Gerard, I loved him in Nim's Island and P.S. I Love You, cried my eyes out with that one. Dracula 2000, wow, one hot movie. I haven't seen The Ugly Truth yet, it on my list to pick up on DVD. I agree with Langella though, he was great as Dracula.
