Promo: * Infinity, Chronicles of Nick, Book One* by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Publisher:  St. Martin's Press
Pages:  448

(Release Date:  5-25-10)

From the Cover:  At 14, Nick Gautier is an average kid who runs with the wrong crowd. But on the night he decides to go straight and refuses to mug an innocent tourist, his crew turns on him and just as he thinks his life is over... a new one begins.

Kyrian of Thrace isn't just a vampire slayer, he's a Dark-Hunter and he introduces Nick to a world that he never imagined.

With new enemies who make his old ones look like wimps, Nick must either measure up or get sized for a body bag. It's kill or be killed and this kid who was born on the wrong side finds a strength inside him that he never knew existed.

Now if he can only find someone to help battle the demons that don't reside inside him.

**Note to Dark-Hunter fans**

The Chronicles of Nick *is* Nick’s real and true past. There is a huge surprise (several actually) in the book that I don’t want to spoil, but when you read the book, everything you think is an inconsistency will make perfect sense to you. More than that, you will understand exactly why Nick is the way he is and why he continues to hate Acheron the way he does. But you have to be patient. All will be clear on May 25, 2010.

Nick’s series will run until it intersects with Night Pleasures and then Nick will have his own novel in the Dark-Hunter world.

Book one, Infinity, begins when Nick meets Kyrian.
Book two will pick up the next day after Infinity ends and will be out Feb 2011.

Remember the one promise that I try to keep in every book: Just when you think you know the truth about a character or event, you find out that things are seldom what they seem. Nick is one of those characters. There’s a lot more to our little Cajun than what you’ve seen to date. That’s why it takes 12 books to tell his story.

There are many, many secrets you’ll learn about a lot of characters, including Cherise and especially Jaden and Jared. Just hold on... you ain’t seen nothing yet :) (This excerpt is taken directly from Ms. Kenyon's site @  http://sherrilynkenyon.com/book_profile.php?id=64 )  For more information, click the link.

Dang, I'm loving this cover!!  I can't wait to give this new series a try!  Vampires, slayers, and demons, oh my!  I'll be picking up Infinity, Chronicles of Nick, Book One come May, it looks and sounds awesome!

And because I couldn't resist, here's the UK Cover!  Which do you like better?

I like the US cover more, but I have mixed feelings about these books. I'm not sure if I want to read YA version of Dark Hunters and if it's needed at all. But that's just me :)

Hi Host!

I've been having a real YA need lately, and I want to see if Ms. Kenyon can make that transition to YA, so many try and it's very popular right now. It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out. But, the series does have an appeal, not many are told from the heroes perspective, and I already know she does it well. (I haven't read the Dark Hunter Series yet, so I'm eager to see it from this angle.)

I find the US cover more appealing too, but usually I'm a UK cover lover, lol.

Thanks!

Dottie :)

Woo-Hoo Dottie,

I am so looking forward to this set of books. :)

I was just thinking last night that it was about time for a new DH book. LOL

I like both covers - but the scroll work on the UK cover is very nice.

Have a great day.

Wow!

This cover art is awesome Dottie, just spectacular.

I'll be at the bookstore in May to add this one to my collection. I hope it is released in paperback.

Thanks for the heads-up..

I'm dying to read this! Even though I've only read the first four Dark Hunter novels, but Nick has really stood out from those four alone! Hopefully by then I might have caught up with the series then I can grab a copy!

As for the covers I like them both, though I think I'm more in favour with the UK version.

I'm looking forward to Nick's stories, too. He's one of my favorite characters to follow in the Dark Hunter series. I like the US cover a tad bit better... but both are very good! Thanks for the details, Dottie! :)

Do you know offhand if this is going to be paperback or hardcover? I hope paperback.. for the sake of my wallet!!!

I'm really excited to start this series Nick is one of my favorites from her DH series and I'm curious to find out more about these surpirises. I can't decide between the two covers though.

I Love Char's like Nick...I love writing books where the reader has to wait for information...that's what keeps the book interesting.

Books are not made to spoon feed the reader but to entice them to read more. "Plots thicken" - make for good books...and this is one I will have to get.

Hugs
Hawk

Hi Michelle!

I like the scroll work on the UK cover too and seeing how the Dark Hunter series hasn't made my way yet, I'm more than happy to see this one. I'll be picking it up!

Hi Lea!

I don't remember if it's hardcover or paperback. I'm hoping for pb, easier to keep on my shelves, lol.

It is a beautiful cover, either the US or UK edition. (I wish the UK covers were available here sometimes, lol!)

Thanks Lea!

Hi Beth!

I know the UK cover is growing on me, lol. I was sure I liked the US cover for a change.

I can't wait to take a peek, it sounds excellent!

Hi Christine!

Crap, I just checked and it's a hardcover edition. I won't be able to wait. Amazon has it for 12.00 right now, but I just pre-ordered Mockingjay too and it's a hardcover edition as well, lol, which means I have to find a place to keep them or donate to my library, but I've already donated a couple of hundred dollars worth of books this year... and I have a feeling this is going to be a keeper. (Mockingjay is a keeper for me, I freaking love the Hunger Games.)

Hi Tricia!

They are gorgeous covers, worthy choices each of them. I haven't tried this series before, so I can't hardly wait to peek inside the pages and the story sounds great.

Hope you enjoy it!

Hi Hawk!

I hope it's as good as it sounds, I already a little in love with Nick and I've only read the cover, lol!

I agree, great plots are a good thing, the more involved the better!

((hugs))

Dottie :)
